Beyond Impossible
Theme Verse:
“For God had something better in mind for us…” Hebrews 11:40a
Overview:
Society tells us that comfort is important, and safety is paramount. Fear of losing our comfort and safety can keep us from living life to the fullest. God often has something more for us, but we must recognize and move beyond our natural tendencies to stop one step short. With God, we can move beyond what seems impossible.
Session 1: His Big Picture
Our experiences and the world in which we live teach us how to respond to life’s circumstances. However, our natural response is often different from God’s response because our perspective is different than His. When we choose to follow Jesus, we must allow God to teach us to have His understanding so that we can choose His ways. Hebrews 11-12, Ephesians 6, Colossians 3.
Session 2: One Step Short
Learning to love others well is one of the most important things in life, however relationships can be messy. God calls us to live at peace with each other and since “messy” is not desirable, we often learn to “manage” our interactions within marriages, families, and friendships. This “management” of others and ourselves can create controlled spaces of false safety that prevent God’s ultimate healing. Hebrews 12-13, Mark 9:49-50

Session 3: You Are Not Alone!
God’s plan always includes a cheering section! The enemy wants us to feel like we are alone in life, but God’s plan includes others. The final verse of Hebrews 11 shows that we are included in God’s plan from the beginning. Ultimately, we have free will to choose how we live, but if we choose to release control to God’s direction, we give Him the ability to help us learn to live beyond what seems possible.
